A Christmas Blizzard

A rich and depressed man (because of the financial system, he is not fairly wealthy sufficient to increase his cache of work by Vincent Van Man, the famed Dutch realist) sure for Christmas within the tropics is abruptly summoned residence to North Dakota to go to an ailing aunt. He arrives simply in time to be trapped there by a blizzard. The electrical energy goes out, and when it does, figures from his childhood seem, and historic figures too, for a festive candlelit vacation.

In his reverie, our man reaches an epiphany worthy of the season – he hears the harkening angels sing, he’s awed by the silence of the night time (lifeless quiet: not even TV), and when he’s lastly rescued, leaves North Dakota resolved to simplify his life.
