Celebrating Presidents' Day with Ellie Could

Second-grader Ellie Could is both quirky and humorous, with a special interest in studying US presidents. While she enjoys this topic, she is particularly enthusiastic about being the class flag chief leading up to Presidents' Day. Determined to be chosen for this role, Ellie embarks on a mission to stand out. In her quest, she ends up accidentally karate chopping the class plant while investigating the tale of George Washington and the cherry tree. Later, she disassembles the class pencil sharpener upon discovering Abraham Lincoln's fascination with how things work. Although Ellie may not be as perfect as Miss-Know-it-All Ava or as composed as her friend Lizzy, her kind-hearted nature shines through. Ultimately, she learns that honesty and patience are virtues that can take her far.
