Painting of a farmer named Thomas in 1808 surrounded by letters, hinting at a puzzle or riddle.

Written in 1767 and 1768, the Letters from a Farmer shaped one of many key foundations on which the American Revolution was constructed. John Dickinson, impassioned by the passage of the Townshend Acts, took up his pen and wrote of the best and most necessary missives the American continent had ever seen as he struck down the unconstitutional and immoral actions by Parliament on its loyal and loving colonies.

When John Dickinson passed away in 1808, Thomas Jefferson praised him as an exceptionally estimable man and true patriot. Jefferson believed that Dickinson's legacy as a respected figure of the revolution would be forever remembered in history.

Thomas Paine's "Letters from a Farmer," originally published in 1808, served as a pivotal work that empowered individuals to stand up for their rights and laid the foundation for a new nation built on principles of liberty.
